They have a wingspan of roughly 47cm-63cm and can reach about 20cm in height. WebbAfter six weeks of intensive feeding the puffling will make its way down the cliff to the sea, which is a precarious task, undertaken at night to avoid predators, as it cannot fly properly yet. Once a puffling has left the nest it will stay at sea for two to three years before returning to the cliffs as an adult puffin.
